Pubblicato la prima volta nel 1958 dall’editore fiorentino Parenti, “Risorgimento scomunicato” raccoglie gli scritti di Vittorio Gorresio per “Il Mondo”, una serie storica di articoli entitled "Process for the clergy after the '60s." Historical passionate, hard-documented, Gorres trace a precise and meticulous reconstruction of the origins of the conflicting relationship between church and state made it so dramatic that the Risorgimento. The description clerical intransigence over the gradual secularization of the Italian State there is provided by the author through the meticulous collection of letters between government officials and clergymen, plus the detailed reconstructions of the major episodes and character profiles that this turbulent period in history is rendered characters. Vittorio Gorres, journalist, writer and essayist, was born in Modena to Piedmont family July 18, 1910. Special Envoy and the corresponding di guerra per “Il Messaggero” di Roma, fu tra i più efficaci espositori del dramma del dopoguerra sulle colonne della testata “Risorgimento Liberale”, quotidiano diretto da Mario Pannunzio col quale collaborò anche per il settimanale politico “Il Mondo”. Firma prestigiosa anche de “L’Europeo” di Arrigo Benedetti, Gorresio scrisse una decina di saggi storici ottenendo importanti riconoscimenti giornalistici e premi. Nel 1980 l’autobiografia “La vita ingenua” gli valse il Premio Strega. Lavorò fino a poco prima della sua morte, nel 1982, curando la rubrica “Taccuino” per il quotidiano “La Stampa”.
